HOW IT ALL BEGAN:
"My interest in science started with studying engineering at Columbia University in 1960's. In 1972, I was studying yoga and learning about the Chakra systems of Ayurvedic medicine which described a system of energy pathways called Nadis. At this time, A reporter traveling with Richard Nixon in China came down with post-appendectomy pain and was offered a choice between western drugs or acupuncture. He chose acupuncture and wrote about its help with pain. This report prompted me to delve into a book I had for several years which advertised the first books of acupuncture in English. Suddenly, I became aware of the potential connection between the acupuncture meridians and the concept of the Nadis of the far-east.
So when I saw the Chinese system of meridians, I became intrigued with the idea that they related somehow to the Chakra systems. From that point, I was fascinated by the connection between these two systems which both talked about hours of the day ruling or related to certain organs or meridians. The connections that the far-east had with China through the Mesopotamian Valley. This identification of the similarities was the easy part, the hard part was could I use this information in diagnosing and understanding a patient's health/energy imbalances?
My over 40 years of experience has led me to believe that the data in the acupuncture Meridian system compliments and fills in data in the astrological systems and vice versa, so they help each other to be more complete in their own right which then adds further evidence to their links in reality."
