Dr. SERENA McKENZIE

Dr. Serena McKenzie, ND, IF, NCMP has been working in healthcare since 1995. She is an evidence-based, holistic primary care physician and is a sexual medicine, menopause and pelvic floor expert. She is triple certified as a sexual medicine fellow (IF) through International Society for Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH), a nationally certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP) through the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) as well as a sex counselor through American Association of Sex Educators and Therapists (AASECT). She specializes in a multi-disciplinary, whole life approach in evaluation and treatment of primary care complaints, with expert attention as well to sexual concerns, pelvic floor dysfunction and healthy menopause. She is a solo physician in practice in Dr. Serena Healthcare, and works alongside outstanding urology and urogynecology providers as an affiliate of Washington Urology & Urogynecology PLLC.

Dr Serena obtained her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in 2004, and completed a family medicine residency at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She has been in private practice since then, and formed her primary care practice Whole Life Medicine, PS in 2006.

She worked alongside a holistic gynecologist Mary O’Connell MD and co-created with her a multi-disciplinary collaborative group practice called Whole Life Medicine.

Then in 2013 she joined Washington Urology & Urogynecology PLLC and developed the Northwest Institute for Healthy Sexuality, a specialty care center for people experiencing sexual concerns. Now in 2020 she has launched Dr Serena Healthcare which encompasses all of the clinical care collectives she has fostered in the past, including holistic primary care, as well as expert subspecialty services for sexual complaints in men and women, healthy aging and menopause, as well as pelvic floor disorders.
