Practice name
Washington Homeopathic Clinic
Dr. Robbins trained as a naturopathic physician in the interest of pairing healing medicines from nature with the study of what makes each person unique in their health journey.
Philosophy
His core therapeutic philosophy is centered around supporting the patient’s ability to heal, self-regulate, and restore balance. He prescribes individualized nutritional plans, physical activity, connection to nature, and natural medicines (whenever possible), and pharmaceuticals (only when necessary).
Dr. Robbins loves working with patients who are willing to consider with him that their symptoms signify an imbalance in their body, mind, or lifestyle – and that they can improve or correct this in many cases without suppressing or palliating symptoms. This approach serves patients best when they are referred to him after careful workup, and then collaboratively followed up to track outcomes.
Dr. Robbins works with children, adolescents, and adults seeking holistic remedies for acute and chronic complaints. His clinical interests include mood disorders, men’s health, the reversal of chronic disease, and particularly, familial patterns of mental and physical illness.
Path to Medical School
Before deciding to attend naturopathic medical school, Dr. Robbins managed a North Minneapolis community clinic. When he asked the seasoned family medicine doctors for advice on pursuing a medical career for himself, they told him that conventional medical school wasn’t worth it anymore. They said that insurance and drug companies stood between the doctors and their patients and that they no longer developed long-term patient relationships as they had in their earlier careers. They also said that they had no time to adequately care for the patients in their charge. For several years, Dr. Robbins sought alternatives, finally deciding on naturopathic medicine for its commitment to the intrinsic oneness of mind, body and spirit, and the belief in the ability of the individual to heal.
Practice
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Robbins serves as adjunct clinical faculty at Bastyr Center for Natural Health and Country Doctor Community Clinic in Seattle. He is also one of a small number of integrative practitioners at The Polyclinic Madison Center in Seattle.
