Description

The care offered at the Heartland Naturopathic Clinic is provided by Rachelle S. Bradley, ND. She received an undergraduate premedical degree in human biology and a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) from the National University of Natural Medicine (formally National College of Naturopathic Medicine) in Portland, Oregon. In 1982 she completed a post-graduate residency program in homeopathy at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Bradley has been licensed as a naturopathic physician in the states of Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and California. Along with using many of the common naturopathic treatment modalities, Dr. Bradley has specialized in homeopathy.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE IN NEBRASKA

In Nebraska naturopaths are not currently licensed because of the political environment. This means Dr. Bradley may not legally function as a physician, diagnosis, or replace the necessary services of a licensed primary care provider. Since she specializes in the treatment of people with chronic health problems she can rely on the patient’s primary care practitioner to do any diagnostics needed, while she provides the naturopathic treatment modalities (i.e., nutrition and supplements, herbs, homeopathy, etc.). Dr. Bradley focuses on treating the whole person (not the disease), so many people are still able to recover their health despite these limitations.

NEBRASKA LICENSURE

While no naturopathic licensure is available in Nebraska, Dr. Bradley has two licenses in Nebraska.

First she is licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner. When practicing mental health counseling she is strongly influenced by Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). The emphasis in SFBT is on creating change in the quickest most effective manner, thus the term “brief.” It does not focus as much on dissecting past problems as on the solutions that will work for the patient in their life now.

She is also licensed in Nebraska as a Medical Nutrition Therapist. This is the license used by registered dietitians to practice medical nutrition therapy. It allows her to offer clinical nutrition. In this practice clinical nutrition is practiced as a part of her naturopathic approach to each patient. Its focus is on helping each patient recover and maintain their health using individually tailored diet and lifestyle, specific nutrients, plant substances (herbs), supplements, and nutraceuticals.
