Puget Sound Family Health
Puget Sound Family Health is excited to introduce Dr. Matthew Brignall. Dr. Brignall is a naturopathic physician and educator with 20 years of experience in alternative and conventional medicine. He is passionate about providing patient care that includes the best options from both alternative and conventional models. Dr. Rife is especially excited, in addition to their long term friendship, he has sought Dr. Brignall’s medical insights for almost 20 years.
Dr. Brignall holds an ND degree from Bastyr University and completed his undergraduate pre-medical training at the University of Michigan. His post-graduate training included time at the Tahoma Clinic, Cascade Cancer Center at Evergreen Hospital, and Seattle Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center. Dr. Brignall has written numerous research articles and reviews, and is a frequent speaker at continuing education conferences.
As an instructor at Bastyr University, Dr. Brignall was instrumental in helping to update the traditional curriculum to include conventional standards of care as the scope of practice for naturopathic physicians in Washington State. He also expanded these to include primary care medications and diagnostic tests. Dr. Brignall taught oncology, pulmonary medicine, clinical nutrition, standards of practice, and medical ethics at Bastyr University. He also supervised the supportive cancer care rotations at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health for 15 years.
Dr. Brignall is a devoted parent of a disabled adult daughter. He is a semi-accomplished jazz guitar player and has a collection of several thousand vinyl record albums. He also enjoys cooking, travel, talking politics and history, and dad jokes.
After nearly 20 years as an educator, Dr. Brignall has decided to return to private practice and to devote a portion of his career to local hospice programs. He is currently accepting new patients at Puget Sound Family Health.
