Dr. Masahiro Takakura is a Naturopathic Physician, Licensed Acupuncturist, Chiropractor, and PhD. He graduated with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and a Master's of Acupuncture from Bastyr University, received his Doctorate degree of Chiropractic Medicine from National University of Health Science in Lombard, Illinois, and Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical sciences from University of Science, Arts and Technology, Montserrat, BWI. He is currently working on a post graduate research with Dr George Einstein at Einstein Institute. Dr Masa is a licensed primary care provider in Washington State. He also has a certification of Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP).

Dr. Masa learned medicine from various practitioners such as Dr. Viola M. Frymann, Dr. Dan Bensky, Dr. Alain Gehin, Dr. Nancy Soliven, Dr. David W. Leaf, Dr. Kurt Larson, Dr. Kenzo Kase, Dr Douglas Hays, Drs. from Gonsted seminar, Sensei Shudo Denmei, and Sensei Stephan Brown. Dr. Masa has specialized training in CranioSacral Therapy, Cranio Osteopathy, Sacro-Occipital technique, Bio Cranial system, Gonstead technique, Motion Palpation technique, Cox Decompression Technique (Certified), Applied kinesiology (Certified), Kinesio Taping (Certified Instructor), Visceral Manipulation (Teaching Assistant with Barral Institute), Japanese Acupuncture, and Sotai.
Dr. Masa focuses on combining science with nature to provide an integrated approach to health. He provides support on multiple levels from prevention to chronic diseases. From the initial visit, Dr. Masa teaches his patients to understand their bodies and the treatments to assist healing.

Dr. Masa truly embodies one of the basic naturopathic principles "Doctor as Teacher." He is also an assistant professor for the physical medicine department at Bastyr University. His Goal: "True wellness is achieved by what you do everyday and not what happens during the visit. My job is to remove road blocks to health and to empower people to take charge of their health."

Dr. Masa believes in the least invasive, most individualized treatment for your body. Specific chiropractic techniques, visceral manipulation, Craniosacral therapy, Cranio Osteopathy technique or Bio Cranial System, acupuncture, homeopathy, flower essence, and emotional integration technique are all utilized by Dr. Masa to facilitate your body’s self-healing capabilities.

 

He is a president of non profit groups: American Naturopathic Board of Sports Physicians, and Integrative Medicine Group.

Dr. Masa is native Japanese and accepts Japanese speaking patients. Dr. Masa enjoys being back in the Northwest where he feels that nature supports healing of the body, mind, and spirit. He enjoys studying.
