Description

Dr. Lou Walters is a licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Montana. He earned his doctorate degree at the National University of Natural Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Walters is certified in homeopathy from the New England School of Homeopathy and Applied Kinesiology from the International College of Applied Kinesiology. In addition, he received special training in biotherapeutic drainage and spinal and joint manipulation.

Dr. Walters’ approach is to treat the person, not the condition or disease. He addresses all systems of the body, as well as the person’s mind and spirit to find the source of imbalances. Some have found that supplementing deficient nutrients or hormones are helpful, but Dr. Walters attempts to help you understand there are deeper and more profound issues to manage. His individualized treatments will help you to restore balance and return to health by supporting your body’s innate ability to heal itself. Once optimal function and balance have been restored, Dr. Walters continues to work with you to maintain your higher levels of health and wellness through each phase of life.

Dr. Lou Walters was born and raised outside of Philadelphia in Warminster, Pennsylvania. Growing up and into early adulthood, he was obese. He had heard of vegetables, but much like unicorns and leprechauns, doubted their existence. Exercise was something he only watched on TV. His health was poor, but as it was all he knew, he thought it was normal.

After graduating from Albright College in Reading, PA with a B.S. in biology, Lou decided to try to improve his health. He began to jog and made gradual changes in the food he ate. With the support of friends, Lou lost 90 pounds. His health improved dramatically.

Years later, Lou was in two bad car accidents three months apart. As soon as he stopped the pain medications he was prescribed, the pain returned. After 2 years, he was told by his conventional doctors he would be in chronic pain for the rest of his life. After trying other branches of medicine without improvement, he began working with a naturopath at the insistence of a trusted friend. Under the naturopath’s care and following his recommendations they were able to identify the obstacles preventing healing. Once removed, Lou’s body was able to heal itself and the pain ceased. Lou had been considering a career in medicine, and now knew what path to follow.
