THE ORGANIC CURE
At the age of 15, I was misdiagnosed with epilepsy and given medication that made me feel numb and isolated. Years later, I worked as an assistant in a holistic medical office. While working there, my mentor correctly diagnosed me and, over time, I was healed and no longer needed medication.
This was my first exposure to natural healing. It transformed my life and I was privileged to see other people transform their lives, as well.
As I married and started a family, I continued to study holistic medicine independently. I developed a passion for nutritious cooking and using home remedies.
HAVING CHILDREN CHANGED ME
I was fortunate to have 3 very different childbirth experiences: one at home, one in the hospital with a midwife, and one under emergency conditions.
My third was a miracle baby, lucky to have survived a birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. During our 6 weeks at Denver Children’s Hospital, I observed as modern advances saved her life.
I was humbled. My bias toward conventional medicine evolved.
During subsequent years, my daughter experienced various health challenges. We worked with multiple health professionals and I often felt disappointed when they didn’t have answers I needed. This propelled me into a more meaningful self-guided study of natural cures.
“I Wanted Other Families To Have Access To These Solutions, Too.”
I was able to find natural solutions for her. I watched her health improve, and I became full of conviction. I wanted other families to have access to these solutions, too.
With my family’s support, we uprooted our comfortable life in Colorado and moved to San Diego for 5 years so I could earn my Naturopathic Doctorate from Bastyr University - a private school at the forefront of science-based natural medicine.
In 2019 we returned to Colorado where I completed board exams and became licensed to practice as a Naturopathic Doctor.
