Dr. Lauren Sanchez, ND graduated cum laude with a BA in psychology and a minor in biology from the University of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Knowing her passion was to help people with illness through diet and lifestyle she attended Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona. In medical school she focused her studies on treating individuals with disease from a natural approach that facilitates healing by respecting the mind, body and spiritual connection. Dr. Sanchez also specializes in helping individuals reach optimal wellness with a plant-based lifestyle. Dr. Sanchez is excited to be an integral part of your health journey and a resource for optimal wellness for you and your family.
Like many others, Dr. Sanchez at a young age saw people she loved suffering from health conditions that most of us just think of as common place and are treated conventionally with medications. When she was a small child her mother was diagnosed with Lupus and was put on several medications that made her worse and only barely managed the disease. At the age of 12 her father suffered a major stroke rendering him disabled. As an affect from the stroke he developed seizures and Lauren had to learn how to take care of him when seizures would occur when it was just the two of them. Knowing that heart disease, diabetes, skin cancer, and autoimmune disease ran in her family she decided to not sit back and wait til the same happened to her. At 17 years old she became a vegan understanding that a plant-based diet had several benefits including a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and a increased intake of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and cancer fighting nutrients. Dr. Sanchez encourages you share your story and let it inspire you to make the changes you need to in your life today so that you can live the life you want. Health is at our fingertips, we just have to want it, fight for it and practice it daily.
