Dr. Kimberly Sweazy completed her bachelor’s degree and pre-med studies with high honors at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. Afterward, She went on to earn her doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine, graduating at the top of her class at The National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon.
In cooperation with The Yale Prevention Research Center, Griffin Hospital, and the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine (UBCNM), she then completed a unique post-doctoral residency program in integrative medicine. This program provided intensive hospital-based training with an emphasis on integrative primary care. As a medical resident at The Yale Prevention Research Center, Dr. Sweazy also received specialty training in preventative medicine and the evidence-based application of naturopathic and integrative therapies. She retains a strong commitment to providing the safest and most effective treatment options available while helping patients achieve optimal health.
Dr. Sweazy is available for general health care including but not limited to wellness and prevention, treatment of chronic disease, and orthopedic rehabilitation. She has also received additional training in integrative oncology and enjoys participating in coordinated holistic care. She employs a wide range of therapeutics such as nutrition, botanical medicine, corrective exercise, and naturopathic manipulation. Her advanced training in myofascial therapies provides patients with additional options for the treatment of chronic back pain, joint injuries, and neuromuscular dysfunction.
Committed to excellence in the naturopathic profession, Dr. Sweazy was the honored recipient of UBCNM’s 2002 Clinician of the Year award. She has lectured extensively in the hospital, university, and community setting and is dedicated to the continuing advancement of integrative medicine in Alaska.
