Practice name
Mountain-River Naturopathic Clinic
Dr. Kimberly Nearpass, ND is a Colorado native and a 2003 graduate of the National University of Natural Medicine (formerly the National College of Naturopathic Medicine) in Portland, Oregon. She always wanted to be a physician, and growing up with an appreciation for the outdoors and nature, coupled with her experiences working in traditional cultures in southern Africa (as a Peace Corps volunteer) and Ecuador (as a rainforest naturalist guide), clarified her passion for and belief in the healing powers of nature. Dr. Nearpass chose to become a naturopathic doctor in order to gain skill and knowledge to help patients regain true health, as gently, safely and naturally as possible. As a registered naturopathic doctor, Dr. Nearpass works with women, striving to identify the underlying cause of "dis-ease", through detailed history, intake and physical exam. Although ND's work with most acute and chronic conditions, Dr. Nearpass has expertise in women's issues such as menopause, irregular or difficult menses, fertility challenges and endocrine problems, including thyroid and adrenal imbalance.
Philosophy: I love my job, and the fact that my passion for nature and my Naturopathic profession align. I feel fortunate to be able to practice what I live and preach, and to come to work everyday, knowing that I am doing my very best for my patients. One important benefit of being a Naturopathic doctor is that I am able to take the time to ask detailed questions and really listen to the answers. I find that patient information is often the most valuable tool in diagnosis. Combining detailed history with physical exam and appropriate laboratory testing, enables me to determine the unique factors affecting each individual patient. Using this information, I then find it extremely important to educate patients about their imbalances, weaknesses or obstacles to health, and then make my best recommendations for restoring health and homeostasis. Healing is not something than doctors do for patients, but rather healing is what patients do for themselves, with the guidance of their practitioner.
