Dr. Moyaert is a naturopathic doctor, licensed massage practitioner and certified yoga instructor. She has an integrative, patient-centered, hands-on approach to medicine and wellness. Dr. Moyaert’s clinical specialties include stress-related concerns and nervous system imbalances that affect the endocrine, immune and musculoskeletal systems, and often manifest as chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, low energy/fatigue, dizziness, muscular tension, fascia restrictions, chronic inflammation, lymphatic stagnation, jaw pain/clenching, TMJ, headaches, chronic sinusitis, digestive disorders, infertility, chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, chronic interstitial cystitis, hormone imbalances, and issues with thyroid and adrenal function.
Dr. Moyaert maintains special interests in craniosacral therapy, lifestyle counseling, nutrition, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, botanical medicine, and biotherapeutic drainage, as well as the integration of women’s health with gentle hands-on healing such as the Arvigo Techniques of Mayan Abdominal and Uterine Therapy™ and Bowenwork Therapy. She strongly supports the restorative capacity of releasing fascia restrictions to facilitate a deeper healing, as well as uses counseling skills and other integrative modalities to identify where patients are “stuck.” She aims to identify and facilitate in the letting go of old patterns that act as obstacles to overall wellness. Currently she has an entire tool box full of hands-on modalities that she offers patients to support their healing, balance their nervous system, counteract stress, release fascia and decrease muscular tension and pain.
Dr. Moyaert earned her ND degree from Bastyr University and her BA in Kinesiology and Applied Physiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She completed a one-year General Family Practice residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health after serving as a medical brigade volunteer in Nicaragua. Dr. Moyaert received her massage therapy diploma from the Colorado Institute of Massage Therapy in 2001. She became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and Bodyworker and a Washington state Licensed Massage Practitioner in 2004. Her training includes Craniosacral Therapy, Bowenwork Therapy, visceral manipulation, massage cupping, KinesioTaping, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point Release, Tensegrity Medicine™ and Mayan Abdominal and Uterine Massage™. Dr. Moyaert has been in private practice as a Licensed Massage Practitioner for seventeen years. She also completed a two-year certificate program with the New England School of Homeopathy and was a counselor at Bastyr University's Counseling Center. In the spring of 2014, Dr. Moyaert completed her 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) training. She has since been teaching weekly vinyasa-style slow flow yoga classes and therapeutic restorative yoga sessions; additionally, she has personally been practicing yoga for ten years. She is extremely passionate about the health benefits of yoga and meditation, especially in chronic conditions that persist despite conventional medical treatment.
Dr. Moyaert’s personal healing philosophy embodies finding balance in life and facilitating healing from within. “Using a naturopathic model my approach to practicing medicine is simply to connect with my patients, to listen and care for them, and to facilitate healing through growth, awareness of self (including mind body and spirit,) and creating a foundation for health and wellness. I am a firm believer in the doctor-patient therapeutic relationship and feel that establishing a genuine connection is a vital part of the synergy allowing healing to occur.” She adds, “Essentially, as a doctor, I am a source of education and support for my patients and it is my intention to work together to find the balance of what will resonate with each of them as they journey down their path of healing and wellness.”
