Dr. Katrina Bogdon grew up in the Ozark hills of Arkansas. In 2003, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas with an undergraduate degree in physics. Dr. Bogdon graduated the oldest 4-year naturopathic medical college in North America--the National College of Natural Medicine (now called NUNM). She received hands-on, supervised training in biochemistry, pathology, laboratory science, diagnostic imaging, clinical physical diagnosis, nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, physical medicine and pharmacology. Completed over 4100 hours of class and clinical training, including over 1200 hours of hands-on, supervised, clinical training.
Since 2007, she has been licensed in the state of Washington as a naturopathic physician through the Washington Department of Health (license #NT00001600). Even though she is trained and licensed to diagnose and prescribe in Washington State, Missouri does not recognize the practice of naturopathic medicine. The level of education of naturopathic doctors varies greatly in unlicensed states, such as Missouri--from simply self-education to correspondence school education to people who completed a four year on-site naturopathic medical degree with boards and residency, such as Dr. Bogdon. In Missouri, she serves as a healthcare consultant, where she cannot prescribe or diagnose. In essence, she is a "second pair of eyes" and brings a fresh perspective to her clients. As appropriate, she will refer for diagnosis or needed care.
From 2007 to 2009, she completed a two-year residency under the Bastyr Residency program in naturopathic oncology in Tulsa, OK. She served at Cancer Treatment Centers of America for five years. In 2012, she opened Our Healing Roots, LLC in Tulsa. In 2015, she transitioned her clinic to Springfield, Missouri. Beginning in spring of 2018, she also began offering naturopathic consults, retreats and workshops at her farm Iris Hill in Seymour, MO. We lost so many healing traditions in our culture with the rise of pharmaceutical medicine. She loves the traditions carried by great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents about health, and she endeavors to teach people how to safely return to these roots of healing and integrate this with the evidence-based science of today.
For the past thirteen years, Dr. Katrina Bogdon has been dedicated to supporting people learn how to reclaim their health, whether they feel stressed out, tired, and foggy or are going through serious cancer treatment.
