Description

Dr. DuBois stumbled into a career in massage therapy by discovering how effective it was for athletic injuries as an adolescent. She graduated from the Brian Utting School of Massage in 2006, specializing in deep tissue massage and injury treatment. She went on to become certified in craniosacral therapy in 2008, including advanced training in intra-oral massage. One of her most influential mentors during her bodywork training was a naturopathic physician.

As a naturopathic patient, Dr. DuBois was delighted to discover that she could address all of her physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual concerns with one practitioner at the same time – which ultimately led her to pursue naturopathic medicine as a career.

Her pre-medicine studies coincided with undergraduate work in cultural anthropology at Columbia University, where she explored the interplay between power dynamics and sociohistorical forces on the stage of medicine. In practice, this affords her the perspective to consider both the intricacies of her patients’ cases and the systems they are situated within.

Dr. DuBois graduated from Bastyr University in 2018, with advanced training in constitutional homeopathy and IV therapy.  She spent her first year of practice as a primary care physician in a partial hospital psychiatric treatment center featuring dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), the only known treatment of borderline personality disorder. Her areas of focus were substance abuse and eating disorders that co-occur with a variety of psychiatric conditions (otherwise known as dual diagnosis).

This was followed by a fellowship at Advanced Medical Therapies under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Anderson. There, she specialized in procedures such as IV therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy in treatment of complex chronic illness and integrative cancer care.

Dr. DuBois will begin practice at Full Circle Natural Medicine in June, 2020.  Her focus includes a naturopathic approach to primary care, complex chronic disease, and mental health including constitutional homeopathy and outpatient treatment of substance abuse and eating disorders.

In her spare time, Dr. DuBois is known for her strong thrift shopping game, a voracious appetite for comedy, forest restoration enthusiasm, “fat bomb” experiments, and her desire to apply Marie Kondo principles to all things everywhere. She relishes her role as domestic goddess to one ruggedly handsome lumberjack husband and one extremely cool teenage man-child. She is known for her loud laugh, her sass and sensitivity, and her ability to start a dance party out of thin air.
