Dr. Celeste Richmond is a licensed naturopathic physician in both Washington and California. She received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine in December 2018 from Arizona’s Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine followed by a 1-year residency in behavioral medicine at The Center: A Place of Hope in Edmonds, Washington. Prior to medical school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in public health from San Francisco State University. During her undergraduate years, she volunteered at Charlotte Maxwell Clinic in Oakland, CA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery Departments in Los Angeles, CA. She did not realize it at the time, but these experiences prepared her to assist others during their darkest moments. To add, during medical school, she experienced her very own “dark night of the soul,” which forced her to confront her own wounds and nurture her ability to properly facilitate the healing of body, mind, and spirit in others.
As a primary care physician, Dr. Richmond is eager to help patients reclaim their health, their sovereignty, and their true authentic selves. She has a special focus in mind-body medicine, inter-generational trauma, and comorbid health conditions, such as, digestive disorders, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disease, and more. She has extensive experience with mood disorders, eating disorders, PTSD, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, OCD, and addiction recovery. She also shares an interest in epigenetics, herbal medicine, nutrition, and psycho-spiritual healing with additional training in holistic counseling, community medicine, IV therapy, and craniosacral therapy.
Known by her patients as “Dr. R”, Dr. Richmond was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA by a very Southern family who is immensely proud of their Southern roots. So, do not be surprised if you hear some “Southern twang” slip out every now and then. Her approach is very down-to-earth and practical. Her goal is to hold space for her patients to heal themselves. This includes listening, affirming, and working in partnership with her patients to address the root cause(s) of their concerns. This also includes removing obstacles to whole-person healing and stimulating the body’s innate ability to correct itself. Her primary modalities are lifestyle and dietary counseling, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and craniosacral therapy.
In her spare time, she enjoys a vast and eclectic range of hobbies, such as, being in nature, hiking, dreamwork, herbalism, cooking, all things science-fiction, genealogy, researching ancient history, and spending time with family and friends.
