Naturopathic Health & Wellness Winston-Salem is overseen by Dr. Blake Ashley Kovner, a Naturopathic Doctor and an Ambassador for the Institute of Natural Medicine. She is a Certified Clinical Biofeedback Practitioner, a Clinical Herbalist, Craniosacral Therapist, and she is certified in IV Therapy. As a graduate of Bastyr University in Seattle, the premier four-year natural medical school, she earned her doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine and was trained as a Primary Care Provider with a special interest in autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases through the lens of psycho-neuro-immunology. Her clinical training was in primary care and family medicine, neurology and mental health, and minor surgery.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, “Dr. Blake,” the name her patients fondly refer to her as, is primarily visiting with patients online who need chronic disease management, acute urinary tract infections, natural mental health counseling, and nutrition and lifestyle medicine and coaching. She is enthusiastically awaiting the end of the pandemic before resuming her impassioned work in Physical Medicine services like Craniosacral Therapy, spinal and visceral manipulation.
During her education, Dr. Blake underwent specialized and prolonged training in natural medicine approaches to managing Anxiety, Depression, Autoimmunity, Parkinson’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. These management techniques span herbal medicines, nutritional supplementation, diet and lifestyle medicine, and eco-therapy. Her Winston-Salem naturopathic clinic is currently 100% telehealth/video.
She is a practitioner of Vitalism, the clinical awareness and utilization of the body’s natural tendency to heal itself once the obstacles to an individual’s healing ability are removed. This can be a physiological obstacle, a mental/emotional or even a psycho-spiritual obstacle, or any permutation thereof, so the people who are most successful in her practice are those highly motivated and ready to heal on all levels. The whole-person approach she takes considers all aspects that make YOU an individual since her specialty is treating people, not diseases.
