Dr. Snook-Downs is a naturopathic doctor and a registered dietitian. She enjoys working with women and men of all ages including adolescents and young adults. With a background in nutrition, Dr. Snook-Downs values and lives by the concept of food as medicine. She enjoys being a detective in health, identifying the cause of illness and treating the whole person. She uses standard and functional medicine laboratory testing in her practice. Treatments address all aspects of naturopathic care including nutrition counseling, botanical meditation, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and exercise. The focus of care is education so that you can play an active role in your own health and healing.
Dr. Snook Downs works with many chronic health complaints including acne, allergies, autoimmune diseases, eczema, food allergies and food intolerances, digestive complaints such as IBS, constipation, diarrhea, gas and bloating, SIBO, Crohn’s disease, hormonal imbalances such as amenorrhea, PCOS, PMS, mood disorders including anxiety and depression, neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s disease, post-concussion syndromes, smoking cessation, insomnia, and many other ailments.
Dr. Snook-Downs graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona and received a 4-year doctorate in naturopathic medicine degree. While at SCNM she received additional training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and pain management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Prior to becoming a naturopathic doctor, she worked as a registered dietitian for 10 years in hospital, community and public health, and worksite wellness settings.
Dr. Snook-Downs most recently completed training in a culinary genomics class learning how foods influence your genes.
