Dr. Svendsen’s practice philosophy centers around addressing the foundational aspects of health, treating the root causes of disease whenever possible and supporting the body’s innate regenerative abilities. She loves her community in the Palouse region and is passionate about providing access to compassionate, patient centered care for all.
Dr. Svendsen is originally from Ontario, Canada, but grew up most of her life on the west coast of the US. Before studying to become a doctor, she worked as a marine biologist in the Bering Sea and river ranger in the Alaskan bush. Dr. Svendsen graduated with her degree in naturopathic medicine in 2015 and completed her residency in naturopathic family medicine in 2017. During her residency she also completed rotations in obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and in the urgent care at Chief Andrew Isaac native health center in Fairbanks, Alaska.
In her spare time, Dr. Svendsen enjoys spending time with her husband, two adorable toddlers and their dog Akoni, working on patient advocacy projects and dancing ballet. She is also an avid endurance athlete and enjoys ultra distance mountain racing.
