Thrive Integrative Medicine
Born and raised in Homer Alaska, Dr. Laing grew up commercial fishing and driving boats around South Central Alaska. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and earned her doctorate from National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She has done and loved many things in life and continues to love what she does today.
Dr. Laing is the founder of Thrive Integrative Medicine and a primary care naturopathic physician with specialized focus in gastrointestinal issues, women’s health, and pediatrics. She focuses on intersystem dependency, prevention, and lifestyle optimization for both acute and chronic conditions. Working with infants on up, she enjoys getting to know the whole family, setting the stage for healthier living.
Dedicated to restoring health and maximizing overall wellbeing, Dr. Laing works to empower both her patients and community through education and relationship building with patients and practitioners of all disciplines. Her holistic and integrative approach to medicine focuses on addressing the root causes of illness rather than the symptoms alone.
Utilizing conventional diagnostic tests and procedures, preventative and botanical medicines, lifestyle modification, nutritional prescription, and physical therapeutics, Dr. Laing tailors each visit and treatment plan to her patient’s needs and desires. Blending both wisdom and knowledge with science and art she is able to help educate and empower patients to take control of their own lives and wellness. Her approach is straightforward, beginning with the simplest solutions and building towards the more complex and aggressive.
When not in the office she enjoys making pottery, good food and clothes or doing just about anything outside- skiing, hiking, biking, running, gardening, packrafting, backpacking, tromping, romping and playing with her pup Kirby.
