Stowe Natural Family Wellness
Dr. Angela Robens is the proud founder of Stowe Natural Family Wellness, which is the culmination of her effort to bring dynamic, life-altering, truly healing medicine to her community. Her path to healing and medicine began at a young age when she was told that she had hands of a healer and she became aware of a deep empathy for all living things. She realized that her truest passion is to help each person she has the honor to work with, achieve their optimal health so that they may manifest their unique gifts for the world and their true potential in life.
Her journey to the present day started by achieving her bachelor's degree in nursing from West Virginia University. She then went on to receive her doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University. She completed 2 years residency in a primary care clinic in Seattle and then moved to VT to be closer to family while starting her own. She is currently offering primary care services for clients near and far, focusing on the achievement of optimal health and the prevention of chronic disease for each client. She is also working to integrate more energetic healing through the art of Reiki into her practice and is excited to offer ways to access deeper levels of healing for her clients.
“ I became a physician after many years of working in the allopathic world as a registered nurse. I had seen the value and life-saving capacity in conventional medicine, but became frustrated with the band-aid-like approach of pharmaceuticals. Time and time again I would see the same person return to the hospital for a quick fix and then back to home again with prescriptions and without any real, deep change in their health. I longed for a more comprehensive, holistic approach to health care for my patients, so I went to naturopathic medical school so I could learn how to provide that care to them myself. The principles of naturopathic medicine are what differentiate naturopathic physicians from our allopathic counterparts and are the foundation of my practice. I believe in our body's ability to heal when surrounded by the right environment and obstacles to healing are removed. I believe in educating my patients so that they may feel empowered to take charge of their own health. I believe in a therapeutic ladder and in working with the body in the gentlest way possible to achieve a cure. “
Dr. Robens uses a combination of botanical medicine, counseling, Reiki, and nutritional therapy guided by the European theory of bio-therapeutic drainage to support each person at different phases of the healing process. She is also trained and practiced in the utilization of T3 therapy for subclinical hypothyroidism.
In her free time, you will find Dr. Robens planting or harvesting in her garden, collecting wild edibles, running or hiking in the woods, skiing, or spending time with her family. Both of her children were born at home, naturally, with the loving support of her family and community midwives. She has personal experience with homeschooling, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, elimination communication (infant potty training), and attachment parenting and is happy to share her experiences with those interested.
